Gabriela Rayón Fernández is a multidisciplinary artist and fiber weaver. The textiles Gabriela creates with fibers and seeds she collects during her travels through the city, countryside, and other places are only part of the story. She also dyes them with plants and bark to let nature imprint its essence. It is a symphony between weaving and organic elements, an important connection that allows her to convey a part of the vital substance to the observer, interconnecting through the fabric.
Gabriela is a teacher who educates people with intellectual and physical disabilities, psychiatric illnesses, and the elderly. She strives to transmit her love for weaving as a transformative medium.
